Our latest deal has got the word out about us, we see new faces all the time which is great! We are looking forward to get to know more and more people and introduce them to the secrets of the gold standard in kettlebell training. Practice shows that kettlebell training works. But even if you have the best trainers in the world: only you can make the training work for yourself. Read on for some good advice on how to make kettlebell training really work...The first session
It will always be a bit different than the others: very technical, to make sure you can handle a kettlebell safely and effectively. We are talking about weights between 9kg and 24kg or even 48kg here: we want you to train with us a lot and not be away from the class because of a nasty shoulder injury or lower back pain. That's why, on your first session we teach the basics. You will learn the most basic and important kettlebell lifting technique: the swing. You will learn how to use and coordinate your muscles. You will learn full body tension. You will learn how to protect your back from injury. And even how to breathe. But worry not, the workout shall not be abandoned: even the first time you can expect a nice little workout adjusted to your fitness level. And I promise, we won't get your muscles be lazy even while concentrating on the techniques. But this was only the beginning.
The second session
You will see that this is much more intense. We will use techniques you learned already for working out, so for the obsessed fat-burners and adrenaline-chasers: this is the session not to miss. Will there be any technical training? But of course! An SFG class would not be an SFG class if we didn't teach you something new, if we didn't further improve your existing techniques. Why else would you have instructors from the best kettlebell school in the world? Training is all about progress: on your first class you stepped on a path and from your second class onward it will be a journey where you can discover how much more your body is capable of then you ever thought.
What I would like you to take away from this post is: once you stepped on the path, be brave and go along with your journey. The first step is not easy, and the second step is even harder. But the third, fourth become easier and easier as you gain momentum and soon you'll discover that kettlebell training is not only something you 'have to do' for 'toning up' but it's something you want to do because it makes you feel good.
I've been on this journey: I started with the wish of 'toning up'. Right now I press heavy weights overhead because it feels great. I find new and new goals to achieve, and guess what happened in the meantime while I didn't pay attention? I got toned! I do it because it feels good and the side effect is it being beneficial to my body. And I'm not a unique case. I am just like you.
And just one more thing: you can always start again. Many people abandon training because they didn't do it for a couple of weeks and they feel bad about it.Well, don't feel bad: you are always welcome back. If you missed a couple of weeks or months, so what? If you want to do a favor for yourself: take your training clothes and go to the next available class. And be proud of yourself that you are there instead of worrying about how much time you missed out. We will be proud of you for sure!
So, any more excuses? Start moving! Keep moving
See you in the gym!
My recommendations are:
- before your first training session think about your goals and what are you willing to do for them: be honest with yourself and share it with us so we can help you achieve them
- come to your first training session and at the end if you liked it, get at least a 4-session pass (you are less likely to abandon your training if you already made a commitment)
- tell us there and then when are you coming next (and if you want us to give you a little kick, let us know: we are happy to send reminder texts / emails)
- 'a little help from my friends' works: train together with a friend, you can help each other going on
This will help you keep going.
